Optimize Chrome for WebPhone
Configure Google Chrome permissions and memory settings so the WebPhone runs smoothly without interruption.
Set Permissions
Grant Chrome access to your microphone and enable notifications so you never miss an incoming call.
Open site settings
Click the lock icon on the left side of the URL bar while on talk.simplefiber.com, then click "Site settings."
Allow microphone access
Set Microphone permissions to "Allow."
Allow notifications
Set Notifications permissions to "Allow."
Prevent Memory Saver from Sleeping the Tab
Chrome's Memory Saver can suspend inactive tabs, which disconnects the WebPhone. Add an exception so it stays active.
Open Chrome performance settings
Go to Chrome Settings > Performance.
Add an exception
In the Memory Saver section, click "Add."
Enter the portal address
Type "talk.simplefiber.com" in the site field.
Save
Click "Add" to save. Chrome will now keep the WebPhone tab active even when you're using other tabs.
Note: If you use a different browser (Edge, Firefox, etc.), the steps are similar but menu names may differ. Contact support if you need help with a non-Chrome browser.
